Description

Bitter Taste is a realist drama about a Scottish Head Chef in New York City who harbors a dark secret: he has an eating disorder. Trapped in a traumatic emotional cycle, Chef Fraser cannot stop his mind returning to his childhood in 1990s Glasgow, when he was propelled to leave his working-class life after experiencing a violent crime. This same crime destroys his ability to experience pleasure while eating. Chef Fraser is left transfixed with recapturing his past through baking his favorite childhood dish over and over — his mother’s apple crumble.
